Markio Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Markio ("the app"), operated by Veltrio Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 30 N Gould St, STE R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States ("we", "us"). Installing the app means you accept them.
1. What the app does
Markio prints barcode labels for the products in your Shopify store, issues barcodes and SKUs, and finds and repairs broken or duplicate codes in your catalog. What each plan includes is listed in the app under Settings → Plan and on the app's App Store listing; those two lists are the same list.
2. Your account and your staff
You are responsible for who you give access to. Roles inside the app decide who may change templates and who may only print, but they sit on top of Shopify's own staff permissions — a staff member you have not given Shopify access to cannot reach the app at all.
3. What the app writes to your catalog
Markio can write barcodes and SKUs back to your products. It does this only when you ask it to:
- a bulk fix shows you every change before it is applied, and can be undone;
- code generation writes only to the variants you selected;
- automatic code assignment, if you switch it on, writes a code to a product that has none when that product is created or edited.
Before a bulk fix is undone, the app re-reads the live value from Shopify and does not overwrite a field that was changed after the batch. It cannot protect against a change made in the same second — Shopify offers no compare-and-swap.
Keep your own backups. A product export from Shopify before a large bulk fix costs a minute and is the only thing that survives every mistake, ours included.
4. Printing, and what we do not control
- Printing happens in a separate browser tab. Chrome closed web pages' access to devices on your local network, so an app embedded in the Shopify admin cannot talk to Zebra Browser Print. If pop-ups are blocked for the Shopify admin, printing will appear to do nothing.
- Direct printer channels depend on software you install. Zebra Browser Print runs on your computer, is not ours, and we cannot fix it for you.
- Label sizes must match the stock in your printer. The app renders at the exact size you configure. "Fit to page" in your printer's own dialog will cut barcodes off; that setting is yours, not ours.
- Scanners vary. A code that renders correctly can still be unreadable if it is printed too small for your scanner's resolution. The app warns when a barcode's narrow bar falls below a safe width; heed it.
5. Plans, billing and trials
- Billing is handled by Shopify. We never see your payment details.
- The Pro plan is charged monthly or annually through your Shopify invoice, at the price shown when you subscribe.
- A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel first.
- Cancelling stops future charges. Shopify's own refund rules apply to charges already made; we do not process refunds ourselves.
- If you downgrade to Free, the app keeps working and paid capabilities stop. Nothing you already printed is taken away, and codes already written to your catalog stay written.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the app running and we watch it, but we do not promise a service level. Shopify's API, your network and your printers all sit between the app and a printed label, and none of them is ours.
7. Support
Email support answers within one business day, Monday to Friday, at support@veltriolabs.com. We do not offer live chat or phone support. The documentation at https://veltriolabs.com/apps/markio/docs/ answers most questions faster than we can.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use the app to print codes you are not entitled to use — in particular, GS1 company prefixes and GTINs that were not issued to you. The app can print any code you type; whether you may use it is between you and GS1.
Do not attempt to reach other merchants' data, and do not attempt to defeat the plan gates. Both are grounds for termination.
9. Your data
What we store, who processes it and how long we keep it is described in the privacy policy. Uninstalling deletes your data 48 hours later, when Shopify sends the redaction webhook.
10. Liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for the cost of reprinting labels. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Termination
You may uninstall at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached, or if we stop offering the app — in which case we will give notice through the app and by email where we have one.
12. Changes
We may change these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app's changelog, and the date at the top will change.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, and the courts of Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction.
